发明名称 PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING ELECTRODE FOR SULFURIC ACID TYPE FUEL CELL
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain an electrode with excellent output power characteristics by mixing reaction layer material powder, polverizing, adding a solvent to it to from a sheet, and letting platinum retain after polymerizing and rolling a gas supply layer whereby catalytic reaction proceeds actively even if the platinum amount is small. CONSTITUTION:Hydrophilic carbon black, hydrophobic carbon black and polytetrafluoroethylene are dry-mixed in mixer and pulverized. Next, a solvent is added to the reaction layer material powder to from a sheet having reaction layer. A gas supply layer is polymerized and rolled on the reaction layer, then platinum is retained in it. By the arrangement, the electrode is readily manufactured in a short time by simple devices and the aftertreatment is easy because no surfactants are used. Also, since platinum disperses uniformly adhering to only hydrophilic carbon black in the reaction layer, the electrolyte is in contact with all platinum in the reaction layer causing catalytic reaction actively and improving the output power.
