PURPOSE:To miniaturize the device itself and to efficiently remove a foreign material stuck onto the surface of an information recording medium simultaneously with the recording and reproduction of the information recording medium by providing an attracting means removing the dust stuck onto the surface of the information recording medium opposite to a position symmetrical to the position of the processing means with respect to the rotational center of the information recording medium. CONSTITUTION:The attracting means 12 is provided opposite to a position symmetrical to the position of an optical head 15 around the rotational driving part of the information recording medium 1. Thus, the foreign material stuck on the surface of the information recording medium 1 is removed efficiently simultaneously with the recording and reproduction of the information recording medium and the cleaning device comprising the attracting means 12 is provided on a position symmetrical to the position of the optical head 15, then the dead space of the device is utilized effectively. Thus, the miniaturization of the device itself is attained.
