PURPOSE:To remove salamander at low cost for a short time by inserting an exhaust pipe in the nonsolidified salamander at furnace bottom from an iron taphole and sucking and removing the salamander through the exhaust pipe by using ejector effect. CONSTITUTION:After stopping the blast furnace operation, while the salamander 6 at the furnace bottom 2 is yet non-solidified state, the exhaust pipe 5 is inserted to the position, where the tip thereof reaches to furnace bottom bricks from the iron tapping hole 4. On the other hand, in out of the furnace, the exhaust pipe 5 is connected at almost right angle with a transporting pipe 6, in which an ejector 7 is inserted. Next, air, etc., is blown into the transportating pipe 6 from the ejector 7 at high speed and by negative effect developing to the ejector part, the salamander 3, which stays in the furnace bottom 2 under nonsolidified state, is sucked up through the exhaust pipe 5 and exhausted to out of the furnace through the transporting pipe 6. By this method, the salamander 3 staying in the furnace bottom 2 is simply and quickly flowed out.
