<p>PURPOSE:To attain one reciprocal tape driving without fail when the reciprocal driving mode is set by providing a means discriminating to which direction, forward or reverse, the tape feeding direction is designated to change over the forward and return paths even when the tape feed is initiated from either forward or reverse direction. CONSTITUTION:When the reciprocal mode set by a mode setting means 100, whether the designated direction is forward or reverse is discriminated by using an operation signal, and when the result of discrimination by a discrimination means 400 shows the forward drive, the tape drive direction of a magnetic recording and reproducing device is selected to be the forward direction, and when a tape end detection signal is supplied, the tape driving direction is switched into the reverse direction when the reversing from the result of discrimination, the tape drive direction of the magnetic recording and reproducing device is selected to be the reverse driving and when the tape end detection signal is fed, the tape driving direction is switched into the forward direction. Thus, when the reverse driving mode is designated, even if the tape driving is started from either forward or reverse direction, the reciprocal tape driving is attained.</p> |
