PURPOSE:To improve bending and following properties by forming the center part in the longitudinal direction of the wire core member of a weather strip with an unmeltable first thread member and forming both end parts with a second thread member which melts by heat at the temp. of forming. CONSTITUTION:A wire core member 14 consists of a belt net formed first thread member 18 which is embedded in the top wall 12 of a welt 11 and a chain formed second thread member 20 which is embedded in both side walls 15 of the welt 11 and which is connected to the first thread member 18 via loop wire thread 19. The first thread member 18 is formed with a polyester, etc., and unmeltable by heat at a temp. at the time of extrusion molding or a vulcanizing temp. On the other hand, the second thread member 20 is formed with polypropylene, etc., and can melt at the temperatures as mentioned above. Accordingly, the first thread member 18 and the loop wire thread 19 remain embedded as they are in the top wall 12, whereas, the second thread member 20 melts and does not exists in both side walls. Thereby, the bending and following properties of the opening end edge 17 can be improved. |
