PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency and accuracy in assembling a unit by providing the clipping mechanism and holding mechanism of a coil spring and driving the clipping mechanism or unit mounting part intermittently as well. CONSTITUTION:A supporting member 16 is erected between leg bodies 2 at both sides of the table 4 for mounting a spring unit to provide a clipping mechanism 125 on a rail 21. A holding mechanism 62 is arranged on the main body 26 of the mechanism 125. The spring unit whose frame wire 14 is tentatively fixed is mounted on the table 4 to locate the clipping mechanism 125 and the cylinder 74 of the holding mechanism 62 is actuated to hold the end face of a spring 12 as well. A plunger 33 is then slided by a cylinder 29 to clip the spring 12 and the mechanism 125 is intermittently driven to repeat the clipping. Since the assembly of the unit 11 is automated the efficiency and accuracy in assembly are improved. |
