PURPOSE:To prevent the defective feeding by the peeling off of copper plating of the titled gas shielded welding wire by specifying the quantity of copper plating of the wire surface to improve the feeding property from an electrifying chip to the wire. CONSTITUTION:The quantity of copper plating of the gas shielded welding steel wire surface which is plated with copper is made to 0.03-0.07% (weight %) with respect to the total weight of the wire. By this method, since the electrifying property from the welding electrifying chip to the welding wire becomes satisfactory, the wear resistance of the welding electrifying chip becomes satisfactory and the adhesive property of copper plating also becomes satisfactory and the wire feeding property becomes excellent. Further, the wire drawing workability is satisfactory and the antirust property of the wire is excellent and since the quantity of copper plating is little, its manufacturing cost is reduced.
