PURPOSE:To easily obtain a thick lead clad steel strip by polishing the joining surface between a lead strip and a steel strip and forming the inlet tension on only the steel strip and not adding the tension to the lead strip to perform the cold rolling while superposing the lead strip on the steel strip. CONSTITUTION:At the time of manufacturing the lead clad steel strip 3 connecting the lead strip 1 to the steel strip 2, the ordinary cold-rolled steel strip or the tinned steel strip or the galvanized steel strip is used at the steel strip side and the tension is given to only the steel strip side at the inlet side of rolling mill 4 at least to perform the cold rolling. In this case, the joining surface between the lead strip and the steel strip is polished by paper brush rolls 5 provided at the inlet side of the rolling mills 4 and the lead strip is superposed on the steel strip to perform the clod rolling. By this method, the thick lead clad steel strip is easily obtained. |
