PURPOSE:To prevent ignition switch (IGS) illumination from being turned off when the illumination is necessary by turning on said IGS illumination even when an IGS is turned off based on a door opening/closing signal, a small lamp switch opening/closing signal, and an ignition switch opening/closing signal. CONSTITUTION:A control device 13 receives condition signals I, S, D from an IGS 8, a small lamp relay 2, and a curtain switch 14 and turns on/off IGS illumination. That is, there are three cases to meet the condition of turning on the illumination: when a door is open, when a small lamp is turned on even though the IGS is off, and when a small lamp switch is turned off. Thereby, the IGS illumination is turned on depending on the conditions of the ignition switch, small lamp, and door and, then, the illumination is turned off by counting time from a defined change. Hence the IGS illumination is turned on whenever there is a necessity for operating a key.
