PURPOSE:To protect an orifice or a liquid path from clogging and to prevent degradation of performance of an ink jet head, by providing an electrothermal converter for delivering liquid, a resistor element connected in parallel with the electrothermal converter and a wiring section for feeding electrical energy to the electrothermal converter. CONSTITUTION:A liquid path 62 is formed between liquid path walls 60 and an orifice 64 is formed at the tip thereof. When power is fed to counter electrodes 40, 45, heat is produced from a heating section 32 of a heating resistor 30 between the counter electrodes and foam is produced in ink so as to eject ink. A heating section 32 is formed between the counter electrode 40, 45, and a parallel resistor section (resistance element) 34 is provided in parallel therewith. In such ink jet head driving circuit, influence of capacitive component occurring in the heating section 32 is blocked by the parallel resistor 34 even if the heating section 32 is broken, thereby suppressing current flowing through ink. Consequently, production of reaction compound is suppressed so as to protect a liquid path and an orifice from clogging, thus preventing degradation of performance of the entire ink jet head.
