PURPOSE:To maintain the satisfactory feeding property of the titled welding wire even if it is stored under the adverse environment for a long period of time by exposing the Fe base so that the self-potential of the wire attains a specific value in a solution with a specific component. CONSTITUTION:The Fe base of the copper plated welding wire is exposed so that the self-potential of the wire measured in the solution of 10% CuSO4.5H2 O-10% H2SO4 (weight %) with 25 deg.C is made to >=-440mV and <=+10mV with a SCE (saturated calomel electrode) reference and a lubricant is applied to the wire. By this method, even after the wire is neglected for a long period of time after being manufactured, the feeding property of the wire is maintained satisfactorily.
