PURPOSE:To reduce water content of cake by adding a condensed polyamine in combination with a cationic org. high molecular coagulant to org. sludge, adding further an anionic org. high molecular coagulant thereto after mixing the first mixture, subjecting the mixed product after mixing the second mixture, and dehydrating the final mixture mechanically. CONSTITUTION:A condensed polyamine (e.g. a condensed product of aniline with formaldehyde) having >=6.0meq electric charge of colloidal cation per 1g dry product of said condensed polyamine at 4.0 pH and <=300,000mol.wt. is added to org. sludge as cationic high molecular coagulant in combination with another cationic org. high molecular coagulant (e.g. polyacrylamine ethyl acrylate) having >=3.5meq electric charge of colloidal cation per 1g dry product of said another cationic org. high molecular coagulant and >=800,000mol.wt. Then, an anionic high molecular coagulant (e.g. sodium polyacrylate) is added to the above described mixture, and mixed, then carrying out coagulation treatment. The product is then dehydrated mechanically. As a result, the water content in the cake after mechanical dehydration of the final mixture is reduced by the addition of a small amt. of cationic org. high molecular coagulant.
