PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic sensitive body good in carrier transferability and resistivity, and superior in electric chargeability characteristics by using superlattice structure formed by laminating thin films different in optical band gap from each other for a photoconductive layer. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body is composed of a conductive supporting body 1 and the photoconductive layer 3 composed of an electric charge generating layer 6 formed by alternately laminating 2 kinds of microcrystalline silicon thin films different in crystallization degree from each other, and a charge retaining layer 5 formed by alternately laminating microcrystalline silicon thin films and amorphous silicon thin films containing at least one of C, O, and N, and each of said microcrystalline thin films being different in crystallization degree from each other in the film thickness direction, thus permitting the photoconductive layer to be enhanced in carrier transferability and extended in carrier life, and sensitivity of the photosensitive body to be enhanced. |
