PURPOSE:To reduce the difference in level between a window plate and a body panel and make surfaces nearly flush by forming a recessed part on the outer surface peripheral part of said window plate and housing one side edge part of a window molding in said recessed part. CONSTITUTION:A vehicle window has a window plate 6 which is installed on the opening part of a body part 7 and a window molding 8 which is installed so as to cover the gap 9 between the window plate 6 and the body panel 7. In this case, a recessed part 21 consisting of a stepped part is integrally formed on the peripheral part on the outer surface of the window plate 6, while a hard film 22 is formed on the whole outer surface of the window plate 6. And, one side edge part 23 of the window molding 8 is housed in the recessed part 21 while covering the window plate 6 with a lip 24 formed on the end of the side edge part 23. Thereby, the faces of the window plate 6 and the window molding 8 can be made nearly flush.
