PURPOSE:To simply and easily carry out rust removing and rust preventing works when the supply pipes in an office building, a ferroconcrete apartment house or the like are cleaned, by forming a circulation path including the water supply pipes, feeding a cleaning soln. to remove tubercle on the insides of the pipes, and plating the insides with Ni. CONSTITUTION:The water taps V61-V14 in an office building or a ferroconcrete apartment house are connected to headers 1 every floor, the headers 1 are connected to a circulating soln. tank 3 with a hose 2 and the tank 3 is connected to the roof part of a vertical water supply pipe 5 with a hose 6 provided with a pump 4 to form a circulation path including all the water supply pipes 8 connected to an overhead water tank 7. A cleaning soln. contg. hydrochloric acid and acetic acid as essential components is filled into the tank 3 and circulated through the circulation path by working the pump 4 to remove tubercle in the pipes 8 and a pumping pipe 9. An NaOH soln. as a neutralizing agent is then circulated, washing is carried out and an eletroless Ni plating soln. is circulated to form rust preventing layers of Ni on the insides of the pipes. Final washing is further carried out.
