The invention relates to a hip abduction bandage for infants for the early treatment of congenital hip dysplasia and luxation with a blank (1) which is reinforced in the transverse direction, widened towards the centre and comprises a front section and a rear section, and with fastening means (2, 3) provided on the ends thereof. In order to ensure that the necessary flexion of the hip joint of about 90@ is guaranteed, on the one hand, while spreading (abduction) of considerably more than 50@ is avoided, on the other hand, the rear section has laterally projecting widenings (8, 9) on the sites allocated to the rear sides of the thighs and supports (10, 11) provided on their inner surfaces and intended to support the rear sides of the thigh in an abduction position of 50@ (Fig. 3). <IMAGE>
