PURPOSE:To permit knowing of the residual amt. of a photosensitive member by providing a region where light is shut off to the photosensitive member and detecting said region by a sensor. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive member 1 is conveyed by a conveyance roller 3 while back tension is exerted to said member by a center shaft 5 after the member is subjected to imagewise exposure by an exposing device. A previously announcing sensor 3 is operated by a previously announcing part 4 provided to the photosensitive member, by which a warning lamp, warming buzzer, etc., are actuated to announce the near end of the member 1 to an operator. An end sensor is actuated by an end position part 7 provided to the member 1 when the image exposure is still continued. The machine is then stopped at the point of the time when the exposure now under execution ends. The residual amt. of the member 1 is thereby known without damaging the member. |
