PURPOSE:To obtain a quick hardening effect and high water solubility of gelatin by using a specified compd. for a hardening agent for gelatin. CONSTITUTION:At least one kind of compd. expressed by formula I is used. In formula I, L is a divalent org. group; R is an H atom or a univalent org. group; A is a benzene ring, which may be condensed with another ring; M<+> is an H ion, alkali metal ion, or ammonium ion; n is 1, 2 or 3. Since the hardening effect of the agent is quick, there is no fear for causing so-called after hardening. Moreover, since the solubility of the agent in water is high, any particular org. solvent is unnecessary, and ununiform hardening is not caused. |
