PURPOSE:To enable to transmit an operating force directly from a metallic core of spokes to a boss and to easily fix the core and the boss to each other by welding while retaining sufficient strength. CONSTITUTION:Along the boundary part between a vertical outside peripheral wall of the boss 21 and a flange part 31, a central part of the metallic core 33 of the spokes which consists of a round rod member curved astride both flat surface parts 24 on both sides of the peripheral wall and a curved surface part 23 on one side is adhered to the boss, and is fixed by welding 34, 35 at upper and lower parts of the adhered part. The boundary part has an arcuate cross- sectional shape substantially conforming to the outside peripheral sectional shape of the metallic core 33, and the core 33 is brought into contact with the boundary part. At the adhesion part between the peripheral part of the boss 21 and the central part of the core 33 where an operating stress for the steering wheel is most heavily exerted, the core 33 surrounds the boss 21 in a configuration consisting of a combination of an arcuate part and straight parts, and accordingly, the operating stress is transmitted directly to the boss 21. |
