PURPOSE:To reduce transmission systems with a simple constitution by switching a signal from a prereading head as a signal from one system and distributing the signal. CONSTITUTION:One pair of heads 1a, 1b are arranged 180 deg. oppositely to a rotary drum for recording a video signal and reproducing a tape on which audio signals respectively compressed about a time axis are recorded and the other pair of prereading heads 2a, 2b are arranged also 180 deg. oppositely to the drum at about 90 deg. angular rate to the heads 1a, 1b. Reproduced outputs are respectively extracted from amplifiers 3a, 3b and rotary transformers 4a, 4b in prescribed transmission systems, a switch 5 is turned to the side unopposed to the 180 deg. range in which the video signal is recorded and the switched signal is switched (switch 6) in the unopposed period to the above-mentioned tape and fetched. Thus, the transmission systems can be reduced with the simple constitution by switching a signal from the prereading head as a signal in one system and distributing the signal.
