PURPOSE:To obtain PLZT powders expressed in a specified formula by mixing a coprecipitate, which is formed by mixing a soln. contg. Zr and a precipitate forming liq. in which La compd. and/or Ti compd. are suspended, and the residual compd., and then calcining the obtained mixture at a specified temp. CONSTITUTION:The mixed soln. contg. Zr and the other component is prepared. The coprecipitate contg. La and/or Ti is obtained by mixing said mixed soln. and a precipitate forming liq. in which the compd. of La and/or Ti is suspended. The coprecipitate is used for a starting material and is mixed with a compd. of the residual material except Zr. Then, the obtained mixture is calcined at 500-1,100 deg.C. Thus, a ceramics expressed in the general formula (wherein, x is 0.01-0.3; y is 0.05-0.95; square represents cation hole) or the intermediate compsn. between both materials, or PLZT powder excessively added with <=20wt.% Pb to these compsn. is obtained.
