PURPOSE:To quickly cope with a trouble generated at the time of recording/ reproducing by providing a servo system circuit on the recording/reproducing side with a transmission element responding to a disk run-out frequency component with high gain and allowing a comparing means or the like to monitor its output signal. CONSTITUTION:It is necessary to regulate a run-out variable (mum) normally controlling an optical disk from a servo system on the device side by a frequency component and to include it within the range of the transmission characteristics of the servo signal similarly to the servo system. When the rotational speed of the optical disk is fixed, the optical disk including its radial run-out variable in an area A and an axial run-out variable in an area B accurately radiates a laser beam spot on a recording track by tracking servo and a focus servo to attain recording/reproducing. The run-out variable of the loaded optical disk is detected by a deciding means to cope with a generated trouble.
