PURPOSE:To save the trouble of redialing for many number of times by making a call incoming in an extension telephone set of the message reminder service setting side automatically and applying absence display if an extension rejection is not released till the return time of the extension incoming rejection message. CONSTITUTION:When an extension telephone set 2 dials a specific number, a central controller 6 recognizes the operation of message reminder service setting and stores a telephone number of the extension telephone set 4 to a storage device 7. When the message reminder service is set, the central controller 6 accesses a storage device 7 for a prescribed time to read a return schedule time stored in an area corresponding to the extension telephone set 2 and compares it with a present time from a system clock 8. When the return schedule time and the present time are coincident, allocation information of the extension telephone set 4 and a routine message text representing the absence are read from the storage device 7 and the routine message is displayed on a display panel of the extension telephone set 4.
