PURPOSE:To designate positive and negative index values in the same way when it is seen from an index value generating device, by calculating a correction value for showing a first area and a second area, respectively, in accordance with whether the index value is positive or negative, and outputting it to an address calculating device. CONSTITUTION:In accordance with whether an index value X is positive or negative, a correction value for showing the first area and the second area, respectively, which have been set in advance in a storage area is calculated, and when the index value X is positive, a correction value for showing the first area is calculated 3 and it is outputted to an address calculating device, and when the index value is negative, a correction value for showing the second area is calculated 4 and it is outputted to the calculating device. In such a way, even in the storage area in which the extendability of a negative number is inferior to that in the positive direction, the positive and negative index values can be designated in the same way when it is seen from an index value generating device side.
