Transition metal complexes of the compounds of the formulae I and II (I) (II) in which A is an isocylic or heterocyclic aromatic radical, R is -H, halogen, C1-C4-alkyl or C1-C4-alkoxy, R1 is -H, C1-C4-alkyl or phenyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by halogen, C1-C4-alkyl, C1-C4-alkoxy, -NO2, -CONH2, -CONHR2 or C2-C5-N-alkylcarbamoyl, X is -CH= or -N= and B is -H, C1-C4-alkyl, -NHCONH2, -NHCONH-C1-C4-alkyl, -NHCONR2, -NHCSNH2, -NHCSR3, -NHC(NH)NH2, -NHR2, -NHCOR3, -NHSO2R3 or a heterocyclic aromatic radical, and R2 and R3 are phenyl or substituted phenyl, are suitable for pigmenting high-molecular organic material.
