PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compounds, by reacting styrenes with CO, and alcohol and O2 using a specific catalyst, treating the resultant product with a CO-containing gas under specific condition and efficiently separating and recovering the resultant solidified components with a distilled residual solution. CONSTITUTION:Styrenes are reacted with CO, an alcohol and O2 using metallic Pd or a compound thereof and Cu compound as a catalyst and the contained alcohol is partially or wholly distilled while treating the resultant reaction solution with a CO-containing gas under condition of >=60 deg.C temperature under >=1atm pressure or after the treatment. The resultant solidified catalyst components are separated and recovered from the obtained residual solution and afford the aimed compound useful as an aromatizing perfume or a raw material therefore, etc. The used Pd and Cu which are catalyst components can be recovered at a high recovery ratio by the above-mentioned simple method and the solidified catalyst component can be deposited in the residual solution with hardly any sticking thereof to apparatus walls to facilitate discharge. |
