PURPOSE:To obtain a feed for domestic animals, having excellent palatability, breeding and health properties and capable of remarkably reducing fecal smell of the domestic animals, by using pods of beans and rice brans which have been regarded as wastes as a raw material. CONSTITUTION:A blend consisting essentially of pods of beans in an amount of 30-80wt.% based on the weight of dry material, rice brans in an amount of 10-30wt.% based on the weight of dry material and, as desired, further chaff in an amount of <=50wt.% based on the weight of dry material is prepared. The resultant blend is then used as a culture medium and edible white rot fungi, such as Panus ostreatus Quel., Lentinus edodes Sing. or Lyophyllum aggregatum Kuhner, are cultivated therein to develop fruit bodies. The culture medium residue obtained after collecting the fruit bodies is used as a feed for domestic animals.
