PURPOSE:To shorten an image plane scanning time by using a two-dimensional infrared detector consisting of plural infrared sensor elements. CONSTITUTION:The plural infrared sensor elements which constitute the two-dimensional infrared detector 1 generate electric signals corresponding to the intensity values of infrared rays that they receive alone and they are read out in order with the synchronizing signal of a timing generator 29, passed through an A/D converter 4, and converted by a linearizer 3 into temperature image signals. Those outputs are stored in a memory 7 under the control of a memory controller 16. Further, a data composition device 9 composes a display image signal of the input temperature image and data necessary for measurement and a temperature level and temperature width setter 5 performs gradation processing corresponding to a measured temperature level and temperature width to output a TV signal to a TV monitor 11. Consequently, the image scanning time is shortened.
