The invention relates to an electrical transformer, and an electrical power installation implementing it. The electrical transformer, of the type including at least two independent primary-circuit coil formers each associated with an individual magnetic circuit and a secondary-circuit coil former common to the primary-circuit coil formers, furthermore comprises means 5 of controlling the gradation of its internal impedance and of its overall power from 0 to 100%. The electrical power installation includes a power transformer supplying a user network, a current detector upstream of the user network, the means of control cooperating with the current detector in order to vary the impedance and overall power of the transformer. <IMAGE>
