The distance component (9), after the fixture (2) has settleo into its location, and any attendant healing has taken place, forms a base fcr the fitted artificial tooth. An extension component (6) is dismantably connected to the distance component during the settling-in period, and extends to a level well above the gingival surface, so that the gum flesh adapts itself, and no metal is visible after the artificial tooth has been fitted on the distance component once the extension component has been removed. The extension component (6) is retained during the settling-in period by a central screw (7), the head (17) of which projects outwards above the edge of the extension component, and forms a healing cover. |
