PURPOSE:To prevent abnormal operation under normal running by reading out seating, acceleration and vehicle speed through respective sensors, and enabling automatic function of a parking brake only when a driver leaves the seat, an accelerator pedal is OFF and the running speed is lower than a predetermined level. CONSTITUTION:A seat sensor 1 for detecting leaving of driver from his seat, an accelerator sensor 3 for detecting ON/OFF of an accelerator pedal and a circuit 5 for judging whether the vehicle speed is higher than a predetermined level are provided and connected to respective judging elements 2, 7. A solenoid 10 is functioned only when the driver leaves the seat, the accelerator pedal is OFF and the running speed is lower than a predetermined level, then an operating chamber 26 is coupled to a vacuum source 18 and, an operating rod 29 of a parking brake is driven so as to enable automatic function of the parking brake. Consequently, automatic function of the parking brake can be prevented under normal running, even if the driver leaves his seat and the accelerator pedal is OFF.
