In external walls for buildings with an inner wall and an outer facing wall made of, for example, bricks, a moisture barrier is arranged between the lower edge of the outer facing and the plinth or the like of the building. Such a moisture barrier tolerates mechanical and thermal stresses, can be adapted to varying widths of plinth and prevents water being conducted into the building. Damage to the moisture barrier is prevented by virtue of the moisture barrier consisting of two profiled bars comprising a bearing profile 11, which can be fastened to the inner wall 19, and a covering profile 12 which can be joined to the profile 11. The bearing profile 11 is designed with a U-shaped part 15, 16 which projects from the inner wall 19, and the covering profile 12 is, along one long side, provided with a flange 20 which is bent at an acute angle, is designed to be introduced between the legs 15, 16 of the U-shaped profiled part and, owing to the elasticity of the material, is designed to bear against the legs. <IMAGE> |
