Reservoir water extraction system - uses telescopic pipe with strainer and float to take water from near surface level

The water extraction system, is esp. for drawing water from a reservoir to feed generating equipment. It consists of a strainer (12) on the upper end of a telescopic pipe (13,14,15) which delivers water to an outlet channel (16) mounted in a fixed base (8) on the bottom of the reservoir. A float (11) holds the strainer close to the surface of the reservoir, enabling it to rise and fall with the varying water level and feeding the outlet channel with water from near the surface, avoiding sedimented abrasive particles. ADVANTAGE - Reduced wear on generating equipment, esp. turbines.
