PURPOSE:To accurately detect the amount of intake air by using a sensor other than a hot-wire sensor as at least one of two kinds of sensors which are required to detect the amount of intake air. CONSTITUTION:A wing 1 is arranged in an air flow 2 which passes through the air flow passage of an air flowmeter so that the air flow 2 is at an angle alphato a wing-shaped reference line (chord line), and it is fixed in an intake pipe by a support member 4 provided to the reverse surface of the wing. Then, a dynamic lift detecting means 3 detects the dynamic lift of the wing 1 and a temperature detecting means 5 detects the temperature of the air flow 2; and their outputs are supplied to an arithmetic means 6 consisting of, for example, a microcomputer to find the air concentration from the air temperature, and arithmetic operation is performed by a specific expression to find the air flow rate. Therefore, at least one of two kinds of sensors which measures the amount of intake air generates no heat by itself and is not affected by the temperature, so the sensors do not affect each other and the accurate amount of intake air can be detected.
