PURPOSE:To eliminate disadvantage giving a feeling of unease or suspect due to the intermission of a call tone to a visitor by sending a pseudo call tone to the visitor for several seconds requiring to send a physical appearance of the visitor as a still picture. CONSTITUTION:When a visitor dials a number of a receiver telephone set 10 and a receiver side hooks off a handset, a still picture transmitter 3 of the sender side is started and a receiver side still picture receiver 12 receives the signal to display the still picture of the monitor. Several seconds are required till the end of transmission, while the sender side sends a pseudo call tone to a sender side extension telephone set 1. Thus, the feeling of unease of the visitor due to silent state is avoided, and the pseudo call tone is stopped after the picture transmission is finsihed, the transmitter-receiver for the still picture is stopped and the talking is enabled.
