PURPOSE:To prevent shortcircuit between electrodes through abraded powder by arranging two rows of electrodes in parallel and switching the first row electrode and second row electrode properly between a common electrode or a recording electrode according to the printing direction. CONSTITUTION:When a recording head is moved in the direction of an arrow A, an electrode 1 in first row is employed as a common electrode while an electrode 2 in second low is employed as a recording electrode and potential is applied selectively onto electrodes 2a-2c according to print patterns so as to supply power. When a recording paper is fed by single line after printing of single line, then the recording head is moved in reverse direction from the arrow A so as to make a print, the electrode 2 in second row is employed as a common electrode while the electrode in first row is employed as a recording electrode, then potential is applied to supply power. At this time, abrasion powder 10 adheres to the electrode 1 in first line. But abraded powder 9 adhered to the electrode 2 when printing is made in the direction of an arrow A is scratched off through the friction against a sheet member 6. When printing is performed again in the direction of an arrow A, abraded powder 9 adheres to the electrode 2 but abraded powder 10 adhered to the electrode 1 is scratched off. Consequently, shortcircuit between electrodes 1 and 2 through abraded powder can be prevented. |
