PURPOSE:To efficiently make communication (facsimile communication and conversational communication) in accordance with communicating contents, by providing a communicating content decision device. CONSTITUTION:When a communicating content decision device 20 decides that the facsimile signal indicating facsimile communication is not received from a communicating origin within a prescribed time, the device 20 outputs bell continuing signals which ring a bell so as to indicate that the call is made with the purpose of conversational communication. When the device 20 decision that the facsimile signal indicating facsimile communication is received within the prescribed time, the device 20 outputs a reproduction commanding signal which commands the reproduction of the picture to a picture reproducing device 30. Therefore, even it the circuit is connected with the communicating origin with the purpose of either facsimile communication or conversational communication, useless labors for a relevant communication can be eliminated on the receiver side.
