<p>PURPOSE:To make the printing positions of adjoining thermal heads coincide with each other correctly by controlling a blank data value corresponding to a shift in the paper feed direction of the thermal heads arranged in a zigzag fashion. CONSTITUTION:Thermal heads are arranged in a zigzag fashion to a paper width direction, and thermal heads 11, 13 are arranged on an upstream side against a paper feed direction with a thermal head 12 provided on a downstream side. Printing action is performed at (A) address by thermal resistors in printing areas A, C of the groups of thermal resistors for the thermal heads 11, 13. No printing action is effected by the thermal head 12 because blank data is stored in the B0 area of a line memory. When a control circuit reads addresses one after another in the line memory in accordance with a paper feed value and reaches (B) position, it reads printing through detection of a shift Da represented by an actual paper feed value with a sensor circuit which detects a paper feed value. Consequently, printing action is executed by thermal resistors in the printing data areas A, B, C of the thermal heads 11, 12, 13.</p> |
