COMPOSITION FOR PROTECTIVE LAYER OF RESIN CONCRETE

PURPOSE:To make it possible to form a composition which neither cracks nor peels off when used as a protective layer of a resin concrete, by dissolving an unsaturated polyester obtained by reacting an unsaturated dibasic acid with a saturated dibasic acid and an alcohol and having a specified MW in a specified amount of a polymerizable monomer. CONSTITUTION:This composition for a protective layer of a resin concrete is formed by dissolving an unsaturated polyester having an MW of 400-800 per unsaturated group, obtained by reacting an unsaturated dibasic acid and/or its anhydride with a saturated dibasic acid and/or its anhydride and an alcohol in a polymerizable monomer in such an amount that the theoretical Tg ( deg.K) of the polymer formed by the polymerization of the polymerizable monomers (assuming that the unsaturated polyester is not reactive) may fall within the range of 263-353 deg.K. This composition is prepared so that the tensile elongation of its cured product may be 30% or higher. Examples of said polymerizable monomers include styrene derivatives and (meth)acrylates.
