PURPOSE:To simplify operation and calculation prior to measurement, by calculating an attenuation factor of a probe for calibration or a lead for calibration when the probe and lead are connected to a calibration signal output terminal. CONSTITUTION:As a terminal 12a is pressed on a probe, making the other end thereof connect to an input terminal 1 or 2, a switch 12b conducts and a CPU10 detects the conduction thereof to set circuits to a calibration mode. A calibration signal inputted into the terminal 1 or 2 is amplified with a vertical axis circuit 3 and when a part thereof is outputted to a horizontal axis circuit 6, an A/D converter of the circuit 6 converts it into a digital signal to be outputted to the CPU10 through a bus 13. The CPU10 calculates an attenuation ratio of the probe by computing the signal to alter a vertical sensitivity display of a character signal generator 9 thereby correcting a vertical axis DC balance and vertical sensitivity errors. This simplifies operation and calculation prior to measurement.
