Attempts to damage and destroy the pylons in a power line are to be reported with the monitoring installation. For this purpose the installation exhibits monitoring units to be installed on the power line pylons with at least one vibration detector (1), an associated signal processing circuit (3) and a reporting device (4). Signals from the reporting device (4) are sent through the power line (5) to one or more evaluation devices (6, 7), by means of which an alarm can be given in case of attempts to cause damage (Figure 1). <IMAGE>
