PURPOSE:To obtain a sliding contact material preventing welding with oxides which are produced during sliding and having improved wear resistance by adding small amounts of one or more among W, V and Ta and an Fe group metal to a Pd-Ru alloy having a specified composition. CONSTITUTION:This sliding contact material is obtd. by adding 0.5-10wt% one or more among W, V and Ta to an alloy material consisting of 87-93wt% Pd and 7-13wt% Ru without changing the ratio in the composition or by further adding 0.01-0.5wt% Fe group metal such as Ni. Oxides of one or more among W, V and Ta are produced in the sliding contact material during sliding, and the oxides prevent welding and improve the wear resistance. The contact material produces little powder owing to wear and hardly generates noise, so a brush contact having stable and low contact resistance can be obtd. |
