PURPOSE:To easily produce the titled substance inhibiting adenosine deaminase, in high efficiency, by using a novel bacterial strain belonging to Streptomyces genus and capable of producing coformycin. CONSTITUTION:Streptomyces.SP.NK84-0643 strain (FERM P-8587) is cultured to produce and accumulate coformycin in the medium and the objective substance is separated from the cultured product. The culture is carried out aerobically by a deep tank liquid culture at 25-30 deg.C under neutral or slightly acidic pH condition usually for 3-6 days. |
