PURPOSE:To reduce the iron loss of a rotor for a DC rotary electric machine by axially alternately laminating core sheets made of soft iron plates having many slots which are extended radially inward and core sheets made of electromagnetic steel plates. CONSTITUTION:A rotor 10 has a laminate 13 formed by axially alternately laminating core sheets 11 each made of a soft iron plate having many slots 11a extended radially inward and circumferentially formed at an equal interval, and core sheets 12 each made of an electromagnetic steel plate, such as a silicon steel plate similarly having many slots 12a. Here, the opening 11b of the slot 11a of the sheet 11 is formed in a semiclosed state partly closed by a bent part 11c deformed and bent at its both sides after several conductors 14 to become armature coils are penetrated. The opening 12b of the slot 12a of the sheet 12 is, on the contrary, formed in a completely open state.
