PURPOSE:To increase an electromagnetic spring constant in the horizontal direction by mounting a saddle-shaped short-circuiting coil with a pair of linear coil sides parallel with the lower coil side of a superconducting coil disposed on the side of a truck for a car as a ground coil for levitation. CONSTITUTION:A ground coil 14 for levitation guide is shaped as a saddle- shaped short-circuiting coil with a pair of linear coil sides 14A, 14B. With a superconducting magnet (SCM) 1 arranged on both sides of a truck 7, a lower section including a lower coil side 2A section is fixed to the truck so as to protrude to the lower section of the truck 7. One linear coil side 14A of the ground coil 14 for levitation guide is fastened on the track side on the bottom of the track just under the lower coil side 2A or nearer to a side wall from a section just under the lower coil side 22A and the other linear coil side 14B in approximately the same height as the lower coil side and so as to hold a predetermined horizontal distance on the reverse wall side.
