The invention relates to a device for suction (vacuum) casting of aluminium produced in a Hall-Héroult electrolysis vessel, the aluminium being sucked by means of reduced pressure into a leaktight ladle 7 equipped with a tube 6 immersed to a predetermined depth in the layer of liquid alumunium. The ladle 7 is equipped with a cover 8 pierced with an orifice 11 on which is connected a pumping assembly including, from upstream (cover side) towards downstream: - branch-connected onto the orifice 11, a means for measuring 12 and for regulating 25 the reduced pressure in the ladle 7, - in series with the orifice 1, a circuit 13 for cooling the gases pumped into the ladle 7, - branch-connected onto the downstream end of the cooling circuit 13, a means 5, 16 for controlled introduction of outside air and a valve 4 for placing in communication with the outside air, - in series with the downstream end of the cooling circuit 13, an isolation valve 18 connected to a suction pump 20 driven by an electric motor 21. The suction tube 6 is equipped in its upper part with an isolation valve 10. <IMAGE>
