Ampicillin labelled with 99mTc, for use as a radiological pharmaceutical prod. in biokinetic study of antibiotics and diagnosis by imaging of septic processes, is made by (a) reconstituting a lyophilised phial of ampicillin with one volume of eluate of 99Mo-99mTc generator with the necessary activity; (c) adding 1 vol. 1M NaOH soln.; (d) adding one vol. of SnCl2. 2H2O in 0.1MHCl, at ambient temp. with stirring; and allowing to stand for around 15 mins. to complete the reaction.
