PURPOSE:To independently test a hole-drilled surface at a lid member unit, by bringing the packing surrounding the hole into contact with a drilled surface under pressure by a lid member and injecting gas for testing leakage in the space formed by the lid member and the packing. CONSTITUTION:When an instrument for a leak test is fixed to the hole 3 for mounting a cooler of the drilled surface 4 of a structure 1, a lid member 5A brings the annular packing 6 surrounding a hole 3, through which a fluid flows in a cooler, into contact with the hold drilled surface 4 under pressure. The packing 9 provided around an insert plug 8 is brought into contact with the inside surface of the hole 3 to close the hole 3. Thereafter, the air of an air space 52 is excluded through a contact plug 7A and a test gas, for example, gaseous halogen of 0.6atm. is subsequently injected in the space 52 through the same contact plug 7A. When a flaw such as a break is present on the drilled surface 4, the gaseous halogen leaks from the gas space along the drilled surface 4 and, therefore, a leakage detector is allowed to approach the periphery of the lid member 5 to inspect leakage. |
