PURPOSE:To perform highly accurate measurement without receiving the effect of the variation in the quantity of light or light loss, by detecting reflected light as a light pulse generated by the change in the light interference state in an optical transparent body accompanied by sweeping between two specific wavelengths. CONSTITUTION:The light from a white light source 21 becomes parallel light by a collimator lens 24 through a lens 22 and an optical fiber 23. An interference filter 26 is rotated by a motor 25 to sweep the wavelength of transmitted light. The number of light pulses at every sweeping becomes linear relation to the temp. of an optically transparent body 40. The component guided to an optical fiber 31 in the light pulse emitted to an optical fiber 36 and going back to the optical fiber 32 of the light splitter 33 through optical connectors 35, 34 is detected by the photodiode 44 connected to an optical connector 43. The output of the photodiode 44 is counted by a count means 46 to obtain the signal 47 equivalent to temp.
