The sharpener consists of a rotary grinding wheel (6), attached to the end of a motor (M) shaft and positioned inside a casing (C) in two halves (1,2). The casing has converging inclined slots (7,8) in its upper surface which intersect with the line of the grinding wheel. The two casing halves are fixed to a support (3) by a flexible vane (4) or, in a variant, the casing can be fixed to the motor housing, and the grinding wheel mounted flexible on the shaft by means of springs on either side of it.
